The reason why my son and I like Jeremy McGrath, you might think it's because he is the best supercross rider of all time, but it's not.  This is why

I do believe it was 1995, at the Steel City Ntl's the year that Ryan Huffman broke his chain and pushed his bike across the finishline. Anyway my son was standing in line (if you call a massive group of immature people shoving and pushing, a line) waiting to get an autograph from Jeremy, and some of  bigger kids and immature adults kept pushing my son out of the way (he was 7 then), So I shoved my son through the crowd a little trying to get him closer, and I yelled to my son to get closer, and Jeremy heard me.

Jeremy looked at me, then looked at my son and knew right away that he was having trouble getting close enough for him to sign his shirt. Jeremy then reached through the crowd and grabbed my son by his shirt and pulled him through the masses of people that towered over my son, and signed the back of his shirt that he was wearing.(see picture).

So, to me that's a sign of a person who really cares about his fans, especially the younger ones. Not like some of the riders that I've encountered and many famous people who could care less about anyone but themselves.

So with that in mind, Thanks Jeremy and you've earned a fan for life that day, my now 12 year old son Chris.
